Utilities Regulatory Commission
The Utilities Regulatory Commission (URC) is responsible for regulating the activities of the regulated sectors namely electricity, water and sewerage for adequate, reliable, cost-effective and affordable services while protecting and conserving the environment.
The mandate of the Commission is to:
- Maintain efficient structures for regulated sectors
- Encourage investments and infrastructure development
- Improve service standards and quality
- Promote fair competition and efficiency
- Protect consumer interests
- Ensure availability of high-quality, affordable services
- Facilitate sustainable sector growth
- Comply with Government policies and strategies
- Promote renewable energy, water and energy efficiency
Organisational Structure
Board of Commissioners
Appointed by the President of Seychelles, the Board provides strategic direction and oversight for the Commission's regulatory functions.
Chief Executive Officer
The CEO is responsible for day-to-day administration of the Commission and the implementation of its decisions.
